"Why do you want me to sign the back of the ticket, that's the lamest place.." - Sonny (From First To Last) to the girl next to me.
"How many of you have friends that couldn't come tonight? ... Well. Sucks to be them, doesn't it?" - Tyson (All-American Rejects)
"Alright, 'gay' isn't synonymous with 'bad.' If you think we're shitty or bad, call us shitty or bad. But if you wanna continue to be a homophobic jackass, return our shirts and CDs and don't listen to us." - Pete (Fall Out Boy)
"How many of you have seen me naked on the internet.." - also Pete
My Sunday was AMAZING. Just for the record.
First of all, I found out Kill Hannah is returning to Atlanta after THREE YEARS! Seriously, it's about time. Second, I went to an effin' AMAZING show. October Fall, From First To Last, Hawthorne Heights, All-American Rejects, Fall Out Boy.
We got to the venue and there were maybe 40 kids in the general admission waiting area already. I was trying to figure out how I was gonna find Lauren to buy my necklace. Around 4:00, Jason goes "well what does she look like?" ... "She's blonde.. and pretty..." Haha. So he pointed out a girl maybe ten feet away from the barrier who was text messaging and it was her. For the record, she is probably the sweetest girlfriend (or just girl in general) I think I've ever met. Half of the time, with girls who are with band members, they kinda give off a bad vibe, but she's really sweet. We talked for I guess five minutes about how it was cold outside, how she got started making necklaces and how FFTL played in Alabama on Saturday and there was a haunted warehouse that she wouldn't go inside. So I got my necklace and it's a very cool little bat, complete with a little note from her. About ten minutes later these girls start squealing and running over to some of the other double doors. Jason eventually goes to see what they're looking at and comes back going "Sonny's out on his bike.. come see him." At this point I'm talking to my friend Josh on the phone and he goes "Dude, just go rape him.." "Hell no I am not raping Sonny..." And eventually, Jason and Josh both say something like "No, you're waiting for Matt right?" -glare- I got Sonny to sign my ticket, well after a while.. Jason pretty much had to push me up to him. "STOP BEING SHY!" He's sweet though. We asked why he was out there and he said he was just riding his bike and ended up out front.. then he rode off through the parking lot. I think that was the extent of the excitement before the show.. haha that and making friends with the people behind us.
Mmm show. Started at 6:30. October Fall was first. They're great. Uh.. From First To Last was second. And thirty minutes was NOT long enough. Sonny does the cutest dances. I was quite happy to being on Matt's side of the stage. Though I got absolutely NO pictures of Travis. I got three of Derek; one was super blurry, the other two were too blue. BUT! They played "And We All Have a Hell" and "Note to Self" so no real complaints from me because those two are favorites. Oh and Pete Wentz came out during their last song. Hawthorne Heights was third.. I only know "Ohio is for Lovers" so pretty much I was just watching their stage presence. They put on a good show. The All-American Rejects were next. I definitely forgot how much I liked them. They're so adorable. When Nick started playing "Swing, Swing" Tyson hit the ground and crawled over to him with this amazed expression on his face. They played around 50 minutes. It's been a LONG time since I saw them at Warped Tour in 2003. Or was it 2002? Either way, they put on a good set. Fall Out Boy was last. I've missed them. They put on an amazing show.. it's so energetic. Much better than the 40 or so minutes they played when they opened for Mest. It kinda sucked that Patrick didn't do any talking that night though.. he talked alot when I saw them before. "Grand Theft Autumn" is still my favorite song to see them perform. However, "Dance, Dance" was awesome too because it's so catchy and you can't help bouncing around. There was a random intermission where Dirty came out and talked. During that time, the two girls in front of me were pulled out and I got right on the guardrail. Their last song was "Saturday" and this guy ran out on stage with a bass. He was moving around too much to really get a good look at him at first. But my thought process was something like "Who's that ... that looks like Matt ... yea he's got the sleeve ... wait, why is Matt playing bass?!" Not complaining though. It's cool that those two bands are close and can do that. So Matt's running around with one of Pete's basses. He runs up to Pete who was standing on a speaker, kisses him, then runs off, still playing the whole time. I wish I'd gotten a picture of it, Loree would've gotten a laugh out of that.
Eye contact still makes me smile though. Matt once. Nick once or twice. Pete twice.. and one time he just grinned cuz of what I did during those lyrics.. and Joseph from Fall Out Boy.. I think I lost count.. but he was primarily on my side of the stage and spent alot of time looking through the front of the audience. I just get these butterflies when I make eye contact with certain people, that's the only reason I could tell they were looking at me..
Haha amazing. I had the most insane adrenaline rush after the show. Scott called me as I was walking out of the venue and just started laughing at me after about ten minutes because I was talking so much. Oh, to make the night better.. Taco Bell at 12:15 AM. AND! I got home and spent over an hour on the phone with Brandon from A Heartwell Ending. By then though, my adrenaline rush had worn off so I wasn't talking as much. But I spent about five minutes laughing at Will in the background going "WHAT the FUCK?!"
But yes, Sunday was altogether a good day. Definitely made up for the somewhat suckage of Friday and Saturday. And Friday was only bad because I accidently deleted all my Esme' pictures. But yesterday I got around 100 pictures. About twenty or so didn't turn out too great, but I still got some I'm really proud of. Sooo if you want to see them, click the link below.
Oh yea, excuse my random girliness in this entry and above the pictures.. I'm not gonna lie, I still get really excited about big shows.
